What I’ve Been Up To

As you know from my past posts, I have some lofty goals to work on for this year.  Lately I’ve been sending out applications for crafts shows and exhibitions, and I’ve been researching an indoor booth set-up.  I just found out this morning that my fold forming workshop sold out, and I might be able to add a second date later in the year.  These are all good things!

I’ve also been working on a new artist statement, and I’m thinking about changing some things on my website.  I’ll be adding a new online shop, but I’ll give you more details once that is completed.  I’ve also been working on my presentation for the Fine Arts Day at Lititz Elementary.  So many things going on at once!

The good/bad news is:  my (now former) employer has given me the unexpected opportunity to explore my jewelry career full-time.  I was totally not anticipating this, but I’m obviously not the first person to find themselves in this boat.  So for now, I’m going to take that extra time and throw it into making my business work.  I don’t want to complain about it here, but please understand if sometimes I don’t respond right away.  I might be having a bad day or moment.

It’s the year of the tiger (Chinese New Year was on Sunday) and that means facing your fears.  That is this year in so many ways.  What fears do you need to face this year?

  1. Sorry to hear about your work situation, Wendy. I was presented with a similar “opportunity” last summer and can sympathize.

Congrats on selling out your folding class. Good things could come of this!

  2. Wendy – too many good people are going this way in USA – sorry to hear this news. On the creative front great that you have a full course. Your creative work is very good and unique so may the ‘opportunity’ be the begiining of bigger and better things.
