I know, I said that I wasn’t going to share any new pieces before the show this weekend. But I wanted to give you a little taste of my most recent rings. This photo is of them after fabrication, but before clean-up and finishing. They match my Dolmen & Entropy pendants.
If you’re in the greater Wilmington, DE area on Aug 4 & 5 come out to the Chase Center and see the finished rings in person (and maybe even take one home with you!)
In other news, I will be making another teapot for Mobilia’s October Teapot Redefined show. This one will be a little smaller and still non-functional and I can’t wait to get started on it!
Yes, I call these “two part rings.” They aren’t actually two separate parts, but they don’t connect on top. So when viewing them it looks like there are two parts on top of your hand. Anyway…
Yesterday while working out teapot logistics in my head I decided to make some new rings. I had come up with a bunch of designs a couple of weeks ago and I got my new shipment of sparkly stones in on Thurs or Fri. So it was time to play! (FYI, instead of the blue topaz this time I got garnet, peridot, and amethyst.)
Which one is your favorite? Which stone should each get?
Yesterday I made three new rings. It seems that my two-part rings are in demand, so I made a couple more and an arch ring that matches one of my new pendants. I think that they turned out great and they’ll be for sale at some of my upcoming events. I’m dropping off the work today for Handmade Holidays 2 at Some Things Looming, so maybe one might end up there. If not, it will be with my other work at the two upcoming Delaware shows in December. And at some point all of this new work will be up on my Etsy shop.
I also finished two more pages of my sketchbook for AEDM:
