Aside from making cuffs and working in the Guild Store (and watching soccer,) I’ve been working on a brand new workshop to offer you. It’s an integrated prong setting workshop and as soon as I hash through the details with the PA Guild, I’ll let you know more details about it. Just know that it’s exciting! In the mean time, I do have another Fold Forming Workshop and Rivet Pendant Workshop all set-up for this Fall.
Have you ever wondered if metal could be folded like origami? Fold Forming is a technique where sheet metal is folded, worked, and then unfolded. Through this process, it is possible to quickly form the metal into gorgeous 3D shapes and textures. In this workshop, students will learn some of the basic folds using hammers, a torch, and vises. By the end of the day, each student will leave with at least one fold formed copper cuff and a variety of samples. $125.00 for non-members, $112.00 for PA Guild of Craftsmen members
Ready to take your jewelry to a new level?
In this class you’ll learn how to add a raised layer to your metalwork using rivets. You can choose from a variety of patterns to create a two layer pendant using textured copper and brass – no torch necessary!
You’ll saw, file, and hammer your way to a beautiful pendant you can complete during class time. Learn a new technique and get a fabulous piece of jewelry you can wear home. $125.00 for non-members, $112.00 for PA Guild of Craftsmen members
Both workshops will be at the PA Guild of Craftsmen’s Center of American Craft in Lancaster, PA. For up to date workshop info on these and other classes at the Guild, visit their website.
