It’s that time again, time to see how I’ve done so far this year.

  • 4 Craft Shows

  • At least 6 Group Exhibitions
  • Teach 3 Workshops
  • Make a Body of Work for a Solo Exhibition
  • Make a Profit for the Year
  • Write a Magazine Article

As you know, the first goal will remain unfulfilled this year. There are only 3 craft shows on my roster. So boo, that’s just how that ended up this year. Next year will be different.

With the addition of Handmade Holidays 4 I have officially reached my goal of 6 group exhibitions! So yay! They are officially: Art of the State, the LDC Chapter show, Handmade Holidays, Vessels: All the Eyes Can Hold, the Lancaster Community Art exhibition, and the online show Holding Place.

I also won’t be achieving the three workshops goal. I do have my Rivet Pendant workshop scheduled on December 14th, so 1 out of three will have to do.

The body of work goal is an ongoing process. I’m not as far along as I was hoping, but as my last post demonstrated, I do have designs waiting to be brought to fruition. I’ll get some more studio time in soon and after the November PGC show I can focus on that entirely.

Once more I need to wait to find out about profit.

Writing a magazine article keeps getting put on the back burner because I really need to clean my studio before taking in process photos. I do hope to get this done before the year is out. As above, I will have more free studio time available after the November show so no more excuses then!

How have you been doing on your goals this year? Hopefully you haven’t kept putting things off like me and actually have some achieved by now. Or maybe you’ll join me in the fourth quarter rush to get it all done.

  1. I love that you’re sharing your goals! One of my big goals for this year that I achieved was publishing my book for Kindle. Another one was getting my new website up, that’s done. I’ve been doing more public speaking, another goal. Much of my other work has been in clarifying the new direction my business will go in. (That’s not ready for posting about here, but it’s going very well.) New projects are in the hopper and I look forward to being able to announce them.
