Schedule Shake-Up

This past week I’ve been feeling pretty rundown and tired, not really motivated to do anything.  I haven’t been able to relax, though, either.  I feel like I should be getting stuff done and I have, but it doesn’t feel like it.  Some people might say that’s because I’m another year older, but I choose to ignore them.

I’ve decided that I need to change my schedule up a bit.  Normally I’m more productive in the morning, but because of my husband’s and my own work schedules, I’ve been in the studio in the afternoon and trying to spend time with him in the morning.  However, the morning is when I normally do my computer work.  As I’ve been doing more and more marketing, emailing, researching, and networking online, my computer time has grown exponentially.  And we all know how easy it is to get sucked into crazy amounts of time in front of the screen.  It tires me out, too.

So starting today I’m doing studio work in the mornings on my studio days and computer work in the afternoon or evening.  I’m hoping that this will shake up my routine enough to bring my energy back and bring more creativity and motivation back into my studio life.

Today I worked on a new pendant where I forced myself to cut-up a fold-formed piece I had made and I layered it with another domed disk that was cut-up as well.  It’s not done yet, so I don’t have any pictures, but it’s building on the ideas of layering that I’ve been working on.  It’s also a pretty funky shape and much more 3-d than some of my other pendants.  So far I’m really happy with it.
